Diamond shared that there is currently no cure for Parkinson’s Disease, and simply returning to life as normal is not possible. Despite this, he has learned to accept his limitations and still experiences great days.

He also opened up about the time he was delivered the news that he knew would change everything for him.

Reflecting on the moment he received the diagnosis, Diamond revealed that he initially struggled to accept it. He told the doctor that he had work to do and would see them later, but eventually came to terms with the reality of his condition.

In 2017, Neil Diamond embarked on his 50th Anniversary tour in the United States and Europe. However, due to the difficulties caused by Parkinson’s Disease, he had to cancel the 2018 leg of the tour in Australia and New Zealand.

In a press release, Diamond expressed his regret and announced his retirement from concert touring after 50 years of performing for the public.

Recently, he has experienced a sense of calmness that has helped him make peace with his health issues. He has found that he is kinder to himself and others and believes that the beat will continue long after he’s gone.
