According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail, Sheridan had developed a “God complex,” which created tension among those in charge of the production. It was reported that the fifth season of the show will be its last, with the second half of the season set to air soon on Paramount.
Apparently, Costner raised concerns regarding the direction the series was going but was told by Sheridan to “stick to acting.”

Reports suggest that Costner plans to film for only one week on the second half of season five of Yellowstone. However, his attorney, Marty Singer, has denied these rumors, stating that Costner is very committed to the show and has always gone above and beyond to ensure its success. Singer provided this information to Puck News.
Another reason for tension between Kevin Costner and Taylor Sheridan has been the significant delays in production. These delays have reportedly been caused by Sheridan’s busy schedule, leaving him overburdened with work. When Costner was available for filming, the scripts were not yet ready, leading to disagreements between the two.
According to a source who spoke to the New York Post, the second chapter of season five was supposed to be shot late last year, but without completed scripts, it was impossible. Costner had already committed to working on other movies and had provided his schedule to the producers, which meant there was nothing to shoot.
