Which was fairly similar in terms of the average frame rates just playing with the boots we were able this test due to the smokes but they’re still fairly high and can be improved by dropping the settings down pub G was tested using the replay feature but take the results with a grain of salt as like fortnight it will depend on what’s going on in the game so the results can vary quite a lot as shown by the one percent lows which are quite a bit lower than the averages I’ve added Far Cry 5 due to get better results than this while actually playing and even in this intensive test were always averaging above 100 FPS Rainbow six siege was tested with the built-in benchmark and we’re seeing quite high frame rates at all setting levels and while the one-percent lows are a fair bit behind realistically they’re still quite high so it should play great with a 144 Hertz screen battlefield 1 also ran quite well.
However although the average frame rates were quite high the 1% loss can drop down quite a bit during intense fights however to me it still felt nice and smooth if an 80 FPS average dips aren’t that terrible at least from someone that mostly uses a 60 Hertz monitor The Witcher 3 doesn’t really need a high frame rate to enjoy and even on ultra-settings to me it played great. however, we can improve the frame rates quite a bit by lowering the settings if needed rise of the Tomb Raider was tested using the built-in benchmark and the results are quite good with over 100 FPS seven and maximum settings Ghost Recon is a fairly resource intensive game and was again Auris x5 v8 review and specification tested with the built-in bench mark although ultra-settings are quite low this is always the case in this game at very high or lower was definitely playable despite the occasional dips as shown by the one percent lows Watchdogs to is another fairly resource-intensive game that is another that I personally think doesn’t need a high frame rate to play I can play this with 40 FPS averages no problem so with one percent lows higher than this 7 at Ultra settings are played really well doom was tested using Vulcan and even at Ultra settings I was able to average above the refresh rate of the display to me it always felt nice and smooth even during intense fights I’ve got a couple more games covered in the dedicated gaming benchmark video if you’re interested now onto the benchmarking tools.

This powerful hardware and lack of ability to swap over to integrated graphics does mean that the battery life suffers even there the battery is quite large the build quality of the laptop is very nice and premium feeling and I think it looks great the only issues I had were the temperatures and backlight bleed it runs fairly warm and loud even with under bolting apply it and power and thermal throttling was an Auris x5 v8 review and specification factor under heavy load regardless it was still performing very well as we’ve seen and the noise can be mitigated by just wearing headphones as you saw this unit had quite a bit of backlight bleed present but it’s difficult to know if that’s common as it will vary between laptops hopefully it’s just an issue with this one let me know what you guys thought down in the comments.

I kept hitting g5 when I wanted to press control there was almost no keyboard flex while pushing down fairly hard it was very sturdy the touchpad uses eland drivers by default and was extremely smooth to the touch it felt great and it has a bronze-colored or ass logo on it.

What’s the write up on the lid there’s the Auris logo it’s got a mirrored finish and lights up white when the laptops powered on fingerprints show up but they aren’t too obvious on the matte finish and they’re fairly easy to wipe off underneath there’s some rubber feet which do a very good job of preventing the laptop from Auris x5 v8 specification moving around as well as rise it up slightly to let cool air in we’ve got events right above the CPU and GPU in the center and above the intake fans two speakers have found underneath towards the front on the left and right sides. It wasn’t really anything major temperature testing was done with an ambient room temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. It’s approaching winter here so expect warmer temperatures in a warmer environment at idle both the CPU and GPU sat below 40 degrees Celsius otherwise it was running fairly warm the gaming result in green was done playing pub G at high settings with the fans on default speeds the yellow bar just above this was also from playing pub G but with the CPU under bolted and the CPU and GPU overclocked under vaulting the CPU alone was enough to drop the temperatures a little life and while overclocked and we’ll see how this affected clock speeds in the next graph full load was tested with a 264 and the haven’t benchmark running at the same time and with the fans at both default speed or maxed out the temperature was the same as the fans were very close to full speed already.
Auris x5 v8 review and specification we will you here all about you’ll hear this for yourself shortly finally the purple bar is the same stress test but with under vaulting and be overclocking applied and we can see that this gave us just a slightly better GPU temperature at 90 degrees the CPU was thermal throttling it didn’t go above this and the clock speeds suffer as here are the average clock speeds over all six cause while testing so you can see any throttling while gaming with pub G at stock settings no throttling was observed we can see all CPU cores averaged around four gigahertz. Which is the old core turbo speed of the 8850 H while overclocked dual cores ran it just under four point three gigahertz despite having them set to four point four gigahertz and this appeared to be due to power limit throttling this was improved a bit with the undervolted though in the stress tests there was some thermal throttling taking place even with the fans on maximum despite this under vaulting the CPU did still improve things quite a bit as shown in red the CPU cores were around 500 megahertz faster as a result of the CPU under volt and only just barely throttling if the GPU load was removed completely the CPU temperature would drop quite a bit into the low 80s these are the clock speeds I got while just running CPU only stress tests without the undervolted the CPU was pal limit throttling rather than thermal throttling thermal throw thing was only happening with a combined CPU and GPU workload under vaulting the CPU not only dropped the temperatures as shown earlier but also reduced the power limit throttling resulting in the higher clock speeds shown here I did attempt GPU under vaulting for the first time but I wasn’t able to see any more than a 1 degree difference.
I didn’t bother retesting everything as for the external temperatures where you’ll actually be putting your hands at idle the body of the laptop is sitting in the low 30s so quite cool while gaming this increases to about 44 degrees and is a little warm to the touch in the center but not too bad and I saw a very similar result while running the stress tests however the wrist rests and right side of the keyboard stayed fairly cool in comparison as for the fan noise produced by the laptop I’ll let you have a listen to some of these tests [Music] at idle the fan was still audible but. It was fairly quiet while running the stress tests and while gaming the total system volumes don’t change much and they were only just behind the full fan speed going to full fan speed didn’t really change the temperatures as it was basically already close to maxing out anyway and it was fairly loud I’ll also note that there was a no noticeable coil wound while testing in my unit finally let’s take a look at some benchmarks will first cover some real world gaming benchmarks followed by tests with various benchmarking tools all tests will run at 1080p with the latest NVIDIA drivers and Windows updates to date installed all tests will run with all six CPU cores overclocked to 4.3 gigahertz as this seemed to be the out of the box configuration the spec sheet does note that it’s overclocked to 4.3 gigahertz so this seems to make sense.
